Welcome to the FM38 Repeater Group
The FM38 repeater group is a collection of UHF Amateur ("Ham") Repeater systems in the state of Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. This is a privately owned system but available for use by any Amateur Radio operator. Currently there are 20 repeaters in the network providing coverage from Chicago IL to Sturgeon Bay WI and West to La Crosse, Chippewa Falls and beyond.
After many years of building out the FM38 network we have finally formalized things and created a nonprofit 501c3 organization. We have big plans to keep adding sites and improving the system but it takes a lot of effort and of course some $$. As we don't have a formal membership and dues structure we rely on our great volunteers to do the work and donate funds. As this is now a tax exempt organization your donations are tax deductible in addition to benefiting ham radio as a whole. We look forward to many more years of advancing the hobby and having fun while doing it. If you would like to donate, click the link to the right. Thank you!
See our FAQ section for more information along with a list of repeater frequencies and locations.

Merrill Amateur Radio Group
- 2026-08-26 18:59 - (24 Reads)Over the recent weekend the Merrill Amateur Radio Group https://www.margdx.club and FM38 joined forces to upgrade the antenna for the FM38 linked repeater hosted by the group. We also installed a new antenna side arm and 240' of Andrew 7/8" Heliax. Everything went smoothly thanks to the guys on the ground and in the air. If you live or drive in the area near Irma, Tomahawk, Rhinelander, etc. please give the repeater (444.575+ T114.8) a test and see how it works. Milwaukee 443.800 repeater disconnect
- 2026-08-13 14:58 - (174 Reads)Just a quick update that the Milwaukee 443.800 repeater will be disconnected from the rest of the network starting around 3PM today through Sunday evening for Irish Fest.
As a result, the traffic through the network will drop quite a bit so expect a quiet weekend on your local repeater or node. The AllStar stuff will remain connected so the outlying systems can still chat between themselves.

Hello Plymouth
- 2026-07-17 21:22 - (302 Reads)The Plymouth repeater is back on line after being down since October 2025. Pretty much everything in the cabinet was updated and replaced. If you are in the area that is served by this repeater we are looking for signal and audio reports.
